The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that 11 terrorists’ logistics suppliers and collaborators were arrested by troops within the week, while four hostages were rescued, in Borno State.
Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye stated this in a statement giving updates on military operations across the country within the week ending 20 June, 2025.
Major General Kangye also revealed that stolen products worth N250,425,833.00 were recovered by troops within the period under review.
He said troops also neutralised scores of terrorists and recovered cache of arms and ammunitions.
Director Defence Media Operations added that several terrorists, comprising adult males and females, as well as children, surrendered to troops between 12 and 19 June, 2025.
According to Kangye, troops between 11 – 18 June 2025, in conjunction with security agencies and hybrid forces, conducted offensive operations in Konduga, Kukawa, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala Balge, Bama and Maiduguri Metropolitan Council of Borno State.
He said during the operations, troops eliminated some terrorists, arrested four and rescued two kidnapped hostages.
Kangye added that the troops recovered arms and ammunition as well as Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and IED-making materials, bicycles, motorcycles, vehicles and foodstuffs, amongst others.
Relatedly, troops between 11-16 June, 2025, arrested seven terrorists’ logistics suppliers and collaborators in Kaga, Gwoza, Biu and Ngala.
He listed items recovered from the suspected terrorists to include a vehicle, motorcycle, mobile phones and bicycles.
General Kangye said troops in the same vein, while responding to information about terrorists’ activities in Dikwa, Kukawa, Ngala and Bama LGAs of Borno State from 12 – 17 June, 2025, killed some terrorists and rescued two hostages.
