The attack which claimed the life of a member of a joint security team occurred at a security checkpoint in Isuofia, the hometown of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, where a gang of hoodlums engaged the security team in a gun duel at night.

They killed one of the police personnel, but lost two of their members to the superior fire power of the security team.

The PPRO of the state command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said, though the hoodlums burnt one of the operational vehicles of the security team, the police recovered a sienna bus belonging to the hoodlums after some of them escaped with bullet injuries.
